Give your designs new perspectives

Racial Justice Designs

Where are the Black Designers? If you’re a designer and/or creative looking to show support or solidarity for the Palestinian people, WATBD has created a guide in hopes of garnering support and inspiring creative ways to show your solidarity.

Book Designs

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been into book design and the graphic designers who make it happen, especially the Black and brown folx who bring the books and storylines to life.

Elisha Zepeda is a graphic designer looking for new opportunities but has been making moves on social media. I’ve been obsessed with how he designs, but the viewers are on the design track with us. I think the best way to learn to create is the best tool. Elisha currently has over 1.3 M likes on his book designs, and I wish him the best of luck on his design journey.

Arsh Raziuddin has been a favorite of mine for a while. Her work has been published in notable publications like the New York Times, Bon Appetit Magazine, and many more. Currently, she’s fully independent but quick to share resources with other designers who are seeking opportunities in the book design spaces.

Inclusive Designs

Last month, I completed a project for the Freedom Community Center that required content creation, a website, and brand development. Usually, when an organization seeks a “refresher” for their website, they want a “pick me up” that involves a new perspective from what they’re generally used to. Since the organization is in movement-building spaces, I wanted to ensure that all Black people's forms and creations, including disabled and trans or nonbinary folx, were represented. The website hasn’t launched yet, but I’ll ping you next time I write something here. Until then, here are the sample designs that I created for the slide banners.
